MONSTER!

Today I was bored and stuck in a project. To stop myself from throwing my computer at the wall I took a break and started doing something fun to amuse myself, and this happened! ITS A MONSTER!
You can get it as all kinds of awesome prints on my Society6, so take a look! I love it. Hope you do!

Christmas Cards!

Look what came! My Christmas cards! I am so happy with them, they are printed so nicely. They are all made of recycled card and come with lovely brown parcel paper envelopes. The inside has a nice snowy pattern without any text, I left it blank mainly because I hate tacky lines in cards and its always much nicer to write what you really feel! On the back there is a little profile of each character and my little logo, I love it! What do you guys think? If anyone is interested you can buy them here!

Christmas stuff!

I'm excited boys and girls. On the 2nd of December myself and Bethany from ThoseBowTimes are holding a stall in the town of Rochester over The Dickens Festival. The Dickens Festival happens every year, Rochester people are cray cray, they dress up like they're from Dickensian times and just chill up and down the high street for a few days. Charles Dickens was from the area, so yeah, they aren't just totally mental, they have a reason. Beth and I will be selling a wee selection of goods, Beth will obviously be rocking her amazing bows and I am currently designing a set of Christmas cards to sell. I really really really cant wait! We are going to have such an awesome day, we'll be taking lots of pictures so you can see just how awesome we are! Here is a sneak peak of what I have come up with so far, I will also be selling these online so stay tuned.

A new little project.

Evening guys. Tonight I'm going to tell you about a new little project Ive got going on. Basically I work in a place where we print stuff, and our shop just got a new phone case printing machine, it's super awesome. So when it first came in and we were learning how to use it I designed myself a little case to make, here it is.
I put this photo on my Facebook and Instagram and I got a lot of people asking me how much it would be for one of their own. Which got me thinking, where else have I ever seen this sort of thing done? I mean you see a lot of personalised cases with names on them, but not actual original artist portraits. I love art and I think it should be something that is affordable and accessible by anyone! So I have decided I'm going to start doing these custom cases, it may have to be a limited amount to start off with, because obviously its pretty time consuming and sadly there is only one of me. But I guess we will see how it goes and how popular they are. I will be able to produce cases for iPhone 4/4S, iPhone 3G/3GS, Samsung Galaxy S2 and S3. Sadly we don't have the stuff for the iPhone 5 just yet but I'm lead to believe its on its way. I already have a few orders under my belt but if you're interested in one drop me an email at bouxwho@gmail.com!

So I added some colour to this monster guy sketch, I'm really happy with it, I'm feeling so inspired lately, Ive got so many ideas floating around my head.

little red fox.

Another little drawing I found in my old sketch books. I scanned it into illustrator and give him some colour, isn't he cute?

A list of things to do to make me a better artist.

A list of things to do to make me a better artist.

  1. As soon as I get the idea, or any hint of inspiration- FUCKING DO SOMETHING. Draw it, write it, whatever. Don't think "oh ill get it down later, I need to finish re-watching this episode of the office that I have already seen 14 times".
  2. In fact, just watch less TV in general.
  3. If when I start drawing, it doesn't look right instantly, don't act like a child and throw my toys out of the pram, try it again. And again. And again. Until it works.
  4. Balance my hand drawn sketches with the amount of digital drawing I do, I seem to rarely pick up a pencil these days. But when I do it's always something totally new and different that comes out.
  5. Look at other artists daily. And not just so I can look at them and get myself wound up thinking "I could bloody well do that it's not even that good, blah blah blah". Yes, I could do a lot of the things other successful artists are doing. The fact is though, I am not. And that it is difference.
  6. Try new things all the time, I'm never going to get good at everything If I'm only practicing one thing.
  7. Share my art, get the feedback, good or bad, it will give me a kick up the arse.
  8. If I'm not set a deadline by the person I'm working for, fucking make one up for myself. If I'm not set a deadline I simply will not do it, cos I'm a lazy dick'ed.
  9. Paint more. It makes me want to die when I don't get a painting right, but when I finish a painting and I'm happy with it, it's the best feeling in the world.
  10. When strangers say nice things about my work, I need to remember that they don't have to say nice things, they don't have to say anything at all. They might actually mean what they say. So I should feel good about that.
